Demon Possession in Moruga School

On November 2010, panic broke out at a school in Trinidad and Tobago as 17 female students fell mysteriously ill and began rolling on the ground, hissing and blabbering in a strange tongue. According to the Guardian (Trinidad and Tobago), the pupils from Moruga Composite School showed the unusual symptoms after suffering bouts of nausea and headaches. Confirmation has come from Devanand Sinanan of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association. A teacher at the school confirmed yesterday that for the past two weeks, students have become extremely violent, speaking loudly in different voices and languages.

Two of the students reportedly tried to throw themselves off a railing and had to be physically restrained, apparently triggering fears of a possible demon attack.

Moruga School Students

The drama started during the lunch hour in the Form One block and quickly spread to other areas. One church-going student Kerm Mollineau, told reporters he got worried when the girls' eyes began rolling up in their heads and they began hitting the ground. Moliineau said: 'One girls was blabbering as if in a strange language. I could not understand what she was saying. It was sounding like "shebbaberbebebshhhhee".' Mollineau claimed he actually communicated with the 'devil which possessed the girl'. He said: ‘I asked the devil what he wanted with the girls and the voice said he wanted a life. He kept saying to send the girls in the toilet and to leave them alone.’

One teacher who did not want to be named, claimed the school had been visited a fortnight earlier by an Orisha woman who had had a dispute with a member of staff. Orisha is an ancient religion with roots in voodoo. Another member of staff claimed the school had been built on burial site – but this was denied by residents living nearby.

Roman Catholic priests, as well as pastors from nearby churches, visited the school and began showering the children with holy water and prayers. Police teams and ambulances were also called.

The Legendary Nibelung Treasure

On February 2014, an amateur metal detectorist has discovered a trove a gold and silver dating back to late Roman times in a forest near Ruelzheim in the western German state of Rhineland Palatinate. The silver bowls, brooches and other jewellery from ceremonial robes, and small statues that adorned a grand chair - valued in total at about a million euros (£825,000) - seem to have been buried in haste in about AD 406-407, when the Roman Reich was crumbling along the Rhine. The Battle of Mainz (AD 406) a key event in the collapse of imperial control, took place not far from the treasure site. Could the haul be part of the "Rhinegold" of Norse and German sagas that inspired Richard Wagner's opera “The Ring Cycle"? Axel von Berg, the state's chief archaeologist said: "In terms of timing and geography, the find fits in with the epoch of the Nibelung legend."

Part of the treasure trove found near Ruelzheim

Although it is the stuff of myths, the story is based on the downfall of the Burgundians in the 5th century. The Nibelungen were the royal family of the Burgundians, a Germanic tribe that settled in the Rhine Valley. According to the legend, the warrior Hagen killed the dragon-slayer Siegfiried and sank his treasure in the Rhine. The river has shifted its course many times over the centuries, so the treasure need no longer be under water.

The opulence of the artifacts suggested that they were owned by someone of wealth and standing, possibly a prince. There are leaf-shaped solid gold brooches which may have decorated the coat of a nobleman or a Roman governor. A set of silver-plated statuettes may have decorated a military commander’s chair, while a solid silver plate is inlaid with gold and precious stones.

The haul is now in the state cultural department in Mainz, but officials suspect the finder may have sold some of it, possibly to a buyer abroad. "The spot where the find was made was completely destroyed by the improper course of action," the department said in a statement.

Julius Obsequens The First UFO Investigators

Julius Obsequens, a Roman writer was one of the world's first UFO investigators who is believed to have lived in the middle of the fourth century AD. The only work associated with his name is the Liber de prodigiis (Book of Prodigies), completely extracted from an epitome, or abridgment, written by Livy; De prodigiis was constructed as an account of the wonders and portents that occurred in Rome between 249 BC-12 BC. He began recording strange events in the year 222 BC, when two Roman consuls observed “a great light, like day, at midnight, when three moons appeared in quarters of the sky distant from each other.”

Obsequens eventually recorded dozens of accounts, often referring to the strange objects as shields, ships, or burning torches—all objects that were familiar to people in Roman society at the time.

In 216 BC, he wrote of another sighting: “Things like ships were seen in the sky over Italy . . . At Arpi, a round shield was seen in the sky . . . At Capua, the sky was all on fire, and one saw figures like ships.”

In 100 BC, Obsequens writes:

"When C. Murius and L. Valerius were consuls, in Tarquinia towards sunset, a round object, like a globe, a round or circular shield, took its path in the sky from west to east."

In 91 BC, he reports that:

"At Aenariae, while Livius Troso was promulgating the laws at the beginning of the Italian war, at sunrise, there came a terrific noise in the sky, and a globe of fire appeared burning in the north. In the territory of Spoletum, a globe of fire, of golden color, fell to the earth gyrating. It then seemed to increase in size, rose from the earth and ascended into the sky, where it obscured the sun with its brilliance. It revolved toward the eastern quadrant of the sky."

Finally, Obsequens provided another example of this phenomenon for the year 42 BC, stating simply that:

"something like a sort of weapon, or missile, rose with a great noise from the earth and soared into the sky."

The Blue Tiger Sightings

In September 1910, Harry R. Caldwell, a hunter and missionary saw a bluish-gray ground color and deep blue underparts object which he at first took to be the blue in a man's clothes. On second look he found that the blue was the body of the tiger. He saw it near Rongcheng area, Fujian Province, China. Caldwell described it this way: "The markings of the animal were marvelously beautiful. The ground color seemed a deep shade of maltese,
changing into almost deep blue on the under parts.
Well-defined black stripes over a grayish-blue ground color. Deep blue on chest and ribcage, and so far as I was able to make our similar to those of a tiger of the regular type."

He had it in his rifle sights but could not pull the trigger because there were two young boys nearby who might be endangered. By the time he changed position, the tiger had slipped away. Caldwell said other sightings of the Blue Tiger were reported from the same region, but that was to be his only sighting of it.

According to Bernard Heuvelmans, these large Blue Tigers have been "persistently" reported from China since the 1920s. Heuvelmans suggests that the color in Blue or Black Tigers may be caused by melanism. Karl Shuker also suggests a Tiger (Panthera tigris) may have possessed a recessive melanistic mutant allele and a recessive dilute mutant allele to produce a morph called a “blue dilution.” Because no official verdict exists and we know relatively little about the animals, these large cats remain cryptids.

According to Esther Inglis-Arkell, Tigers have the agouti gene, a gene that determines whether animals - from dogs to horses, have patterned fur. It causes a range of pigmentation patterns in dogs and cats, as well as the darkening that is sometimes seen around the ears and lower legs of horses. A blue or maltese tiger, would have to have a combination of the agouti gene with the dilution gene. The agouti gene would give the tiger stripes, but the dilute gene would wash out the orange and turn it gray.

Chinese Air Force Planes Chased UFO

Based on report of Hebei Daily, the Chinese air force had experience a close-encounter with a UFO. One of the fighter pilot said, it's just like ones in foreign movies. They described it as an object with a mushroom-shaped dome on top and a flat bottom covered with bright rotating lights. The incident occurred on October 19, 1998, and over 100 people also saw the UFO. The news digest Baokan Wenzhai gave a detailed pilot’s account of an aerial cat and-mouse game played between the object and a jet fighter ordered to intercept it.

The encounter began when four different radar stations in northern Hebei province picked up an unknown moving object in airspace directly above a military flight training base near Changzhou city. According to the observers at the military base, the UFO first appeared like "a small star," and then grew larger and much larger.

Mr. Li, a base commander reported to his superiors, who immediately ordered a Jianjiao-6 armed interceptor airborne to pursue the object once checks showed no other civilian or military aircraft in the area. However, when they got within 4,000 meters of the UFO over Qing county, it abruptly shot upward, easily evading subsequent attempts to get closer. It appeared to be toying with the fighter by repeatedly outdistancing it and then reappearing just above it, the pilots said.

The report said a request for permission to fire on the UFO with an onboard cannon was denied by ground command at one point. The interceptor was eventually forced to return to base after it ran out of fuel at an altitude of 12,000 meters (39,600 feet). The UFO then disappeared before two newer-model planes could get airborne, the article said.

Mummified Cat Found In The Attic

On February 2013, Robert Gray, 56, a bed-and-breakfast owner from Portscatho, Cornwall found a mysterious cat mummy which left in his attic for 40 years. Later it has been verified as 2,000 years old and Egyptian. He said he found the artifact in the loft, where it had lain since being given in the 1970s to his father Peter Gray, an Egyptologist who died in 1984.

At first Mr. Gray assumed it was a fake. However, after he met Jane Marley, curator of archaeology and world culture from the Royal Cornwall Museum, and asked her to scan it with the X-rays.
It emerged the artifact is a perfectly mummified cat, and the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro verified the find.

Images revealed the outline of a perfectly preserved ancient cat - complete with face, ears, spine and brain. The X-ray images also show the neck of his mummified cat is still intact, suggesting it was a prized pet rather than a sacrifice to the gods.

Mr Gray said: "My father acquired the cat in the 1970s as a token of thanks from a museum. It could fetch a couple of thousands pounds but I will probably donate it to a museum."

Cats were particularly popular subjects during the Ptolemaic period from 305 BC to 30BC because they were believed to represent the war goddess Bastet.

Goblin in Zimbabwe

Four schools in Southern Zimbabwe suspended lessons in early November 2013 after complaints that children were being attacked by goblins. "The whole school is being affected," said one headmaster. "We cannot continue operating under such conditions. When the attacks start, pupils run amok. They start screaming and panicking. Apparently this is not the first case that involving goblins, from 2012 until 2014 there are around over 10 cases reported in Zimbabwe.

On 2012, Sithole family at a Chisumbanje homestead in Zimbabwe believes goblins are the main cause of their recent misfortune. This case occurred in Chipinge South where people are occasionally being pelted with stones by unseen things which they believed to be goblins.

For the past two months, the Sithole family had to make do with stones being thrown at them, while soil is intermittently tossed into their pots by invisible assailants as they will be preparing food. However, things came to a boil early last week when three huts at the homestead as well as a house suddenly went up in smoke and the family now sleeps in the open, while the few belongings they managed to salvage from the raging fire are heaped outside.

A goblin shot and killed in Zimbabwe
Whenever one young male member of the family, Taso Sithole (16) entered each of the huts and as soon as he came out, that hut would unexpectedly go up in smoke and this happened on all the four structures that were burnt at the homestead. To make matters worse, efforts to put out the fire were rendered futile as the well at the homestead mysteriously ran dry, only for the well to automatically fill up to the brim with water soon after the huts had been razed.

On January 2014, a bizarre incident occurred on one police station in Africa involving goblin which they called it "Suitcase Goblin". At that time, a family from Nketa 7 suburb dumped its tenant’s “goblin” at the Tshabalala Police Station. The officer said a traditional healer who had come with the family opened the suitcase and a weird looking creature jumped out of a bottle that was filled with blood. And then, everyone panicking.

“No one told anyone it was time to run. One minute, the charge office was full, the next, it was empty. I think some people went out through the windows because we could not all have fitted through the door. Fat cops and slim cops all ran for their lives screaming,” said one of the cop.

Mysterious Appearance of Gafsa Beach

On July 2014, a mysterious lake suddenly appeared in the Gafsa region of southern Tunisia. The lake is estimated over a hectare in size and 10-18m deep. It is presumed that a small earthquake fractured a natural dam holding an artificial reservoir allowing the water to reach the surface. However, the aquifer has not been found – the theory relies more on the absence of other credible explanations than anything else. The lake was named Gafsa beach or "Lac de Gafsa" by local residents.

Mehdi Bilel was returning from a marriage in the north of the country when he spotted the lake in the desert canyon 25km from the city of Gafsa on the road from Om Larayes. Since it was discovered by shepherds more than three weeks ago, over 600 people have been swimming, diving and scuba diving in the water, according to Au News.

Gafsa Beach (Source: Facebook via News.com.au)

"Some say it is a miracle, while others are calling it a curse," Lakhdar Souid, a Tunisian journalist, told France 24 television.

Authorities have offered no official explanation for the lake’s origins but local geologists believe seismic activity may have upset the water table and caused groundwater to rise to the surface. Gafsa's Office of Public Safety warned Tunisians that the water may be dangerous to swim in, as the region is rich in phosphate. This region is overflowing with large deposits of phosphate, which can leave behind radioactive residue so there is a real risk that this water is contaminated and carcinogenic. Tunisia is the fifth largest exporter of the chemical in the world and the Gafsa is home to one of the largest phosphate mines.

Mexican Ouija Board Incident

On June 2014, Alexandra Huerta with her brother Sergio Huerta, and their cousin Fernando Cuevas were reportedly 'possessed' by evil spirits after playing Ouija board in Mexican village of San Juan Tlacotenco. Apparently they were using a shamanic drug and trying to contact the 'spirit world'. Few minutes later, they started acting in a 'trance-like state' Alexandra began 'growling', while her relatives were suffering hallucinations.

'She started convulsing and screaming of terrible visions', said Maria CamaƱo, 48, her guardian in the house where the trio tried to make contact with the dead on Sunday June 22. Alexandra's parents said they had called paramedics after a local Catholic priest refused to perform an exorcism on the three because they were not regular churchgoers.

Paramedics were called to the house and took them to the hospital for medical treatments. It’s being reported that her brother and cousin also began experiencing deafness, blindness and hallucinations just like her sister.
A mixture of eyedrops, painkillers and drugs were administered to calm the three — an effort that was apparently effective. Victor Demesa, director of public safety, told media that treating them was difficult due to the fact that they were “so erratic.”

While Demesa confirmed that the patients reported feeling muscle spasms, difficulty swallowing and blindness, among other symptoms, he added that it was not up to doctors to decide whether possession was a factor — or whether the three were simply convinced that they were under demonic control.

According to the paramedics, she had taken Brugmansia also known as Angel’s Trumpet, which grows in tropical regions of Latin America. It has large poisonous flowers, and induces dark hallucinations, confusion, muscle paralysis and can lead to death in large dose, especially in those who are not yet fully grown. Brugmansia used in many shamanic religions in Mexico to allow adherents to make contact with the spirit world.
