Gebel Gol-Bahar appears to be an underwater Maltese Temple, of the coast of Sliema about 3 miles out. The mysterious site was identified in 1999 by retired real estate investor Hubert Zeitlmair,a follower of Zecharia Sitchin, he states that he has been guided by his "primeval ancestors, namely... the God Pa.tha-i-da.na Asu.ara tSi.dha, and the Goddess Ashtar-tara Queen of Atlantis" who he met on Malta. He believes that the temple was built by aliens in around 10,000 BC to 12,000 BC, and was submerged at the end of the Ice Age during the Genesis flood narrative. However, it was never studied properly and archaeologists are not convinced that the site is actually a temple.
On 13 July 1999 by Shaun Arrigo and his brother Kurt, who were working under the instructions of Hubert Zeitlmair, interested in pseudoarchaeology. The discovery was reported in the local media in October 1999. Further explorations of the site were conducted by Zeitlmair in November 1999 and May 2000. Dr. Zeitlmair said that these structures are full of vegetation, however it can clearly be seen from the photos and film footage that the structure itself shows the same characteristics as the others which found around on the island. The discovery of these structures will have diverse archaeological interpretations and the first implications are that this could be compared with the temples of Hagar Qim, Mnajdra, Ggantija and the Hypogeum.

This archaeological discovery has also brought about the discussion amongst archaeologists regarding the period in which they were built. Prof. Zeitlmair sustains that these structures were built at leasst 51.840 years earlier than the megalithic temples in Malta is said for and the questions that he is trying to answer are; Who built these Structures?, When did they build them and for what purpose?
To date, no official dating or studies have been made of the ruins. However, many have managed to perform unofficial research. And this suggests that the remains could be many thousands of years old. And what’s more, it is likely, some claim, that the entire area was once inhabited before a major flood hit the region. Some researchers even go as far as to say the area was likely hit by the same flood mentioned in The Bible. Needless to say, almost all researchers in the mainstream dismiss such claims. Some even counter that the boulders and rocks are not at all ancient ruins. They are, in fact, likely the result of illegal dumps.
As well as the structures themselves, though, there also appears to be cart ruts. There are 150 sites with cart ruts across the Maltese Islands. The parallel grooves in the ground always run in pairs and are far older than any of the megalithic buildings. Nobody knows exactly what they were, where they were going and why. Some run off sheer cliffs, others into the sea. Some of Malta’s mysterious cart ruts can be seen in shallow waters, now submerged, such as the ones in St George’s Bay, Birzebbuga. Submerged cart ruts have also been reported deeper in the sea in Pembroke, St Julians.
The presence of cart ruts on the ground is strange enough; that they lie underwater is stranger still. This suggests that they haven't always been there. Either sea levels were much lower or the land has literally sunk below the surface as a result of earthquakes. If the former were true, that they lie at a depth of 40 meters suggests that the cart ruts are even older than archaeologists speculate. The sea level was much lower at the end of the last ice age 10,000 years ago and the Mediterranean was completely dry around 5 million years ago but that doesn't help us guess who made them and why!
